We took a trip out to the GWSR last weekend for their Diesel Gala. We do like it at Toddington as access is good, you can get up close and the newly refurbed restaurant is decent! Parking was not as good as usual as there were a couple of stalls, but they guys on the stalls were great so no problems there.
It was nice to see 5310 visiting from Llangollen – I haven’t seen or heard a Class 26 for a while! It was immaculately turned out as well. Also in attendance were some old classic BR locos – more details on the GWSR website. We enjoyed a few departures and arrivals and then decided to have a spot of lunch in the restaurant. Well fed and watered we popped back for another couple of hours…
All in all an enjoyable day out – if you have the chance you should check it out. We always enjoy it there, and hope that you do to!
